Evans Bay Yacht And Motor Boat Club has a varied club events programme which ranges from sprint racing for dinghies, through to harbour racing for trailer yachts and keelboats and harbour rallies and cruises for motor boats and launches.The full programme for the season can be found below.

EBYMBC OPENING DAY

This year will be EBYMBC’s 104th Opening Day. All the normal pomp and ceremony will happen late morning before we hit the water for the second race of the Wellington Keelboat InterClub Series. Expect to see the Bay full of sails, it’s a day you really shouldn’t miss!

The Interclub Series is a collaboration between Lowry Bay, Royal Port Nicholson and Evans Bay to encourage members to sail at other Clubs during the season.

The series comprises four sailing days during the season, incorporating each Club's opening day.

Twilight racing is back on the calendar for EBYMBC in 2022-23. We are doing Tuesday night racing a go and we can't really thinking of any better way to get rid of those early week blues!

MISHMOSH POKER RACE

1 December 2021

The Mishmosh Poker Race is more of a rally really, with participants picking up cards for their "playing hand" from pre-defined locations around Wellington Harbour.

The winner is the participant with the best "poker hand" at the end of the event.

THE WASH HOUSE CLUB SAILING DAYS

Late January to April 2022

The Wash House Summer Club Sailing days are all about getting out on the water and enjoying Evans Bay & Wellington Harbour. Club sailing days contribute to the EBYMBC Summer Series which is part of the Club Season Championship.

It comprises nine separate sailing days during January, February, March & April, generally with at least two races during the afternoon.

CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS

8 May 2019

The Champion of Champions event sees the best of the best from the EBYMBC Season Championships battle it out to find the ultimate "Champion".

The contest is run with the generous assistance of Sailability Wellington in their Access Dinghies, which creates a very level playing field.

The action is set up right off the Club wharf allowing for great spectator viewing, so get on down and support your divisional champion to be their best!
