Great design by NZ designer Farr, sails well but also a safe holiday family boat. Great for racing or camping. See reviewhttps://www.farrtraileryachts.org/farr-6000/boat-review
It hasn't been used much in the last few years but is sound and dry inside. It needs either a new mainsail or significant repairs hence the lower price that other Farrs advertised but the spinnaker and foresail in good condition. It also needs a new external handle for the keel lift and some work on the wooden access panels.
Comes with a 8hp two stroke engine always washed through after use and stored inside and hasn't been used since the last service but hasn't got a fuel tank or hose.
The trailer is registered and warranted and has just had over $4000 spent on it.

Wakarere holds a significant place in the history of the Wellington area. Commissioned by The Elliot's in 1939 and built by Jack Morgan in Picton, she carries a rich legacy. Correspondence between Sir Randle Elliot and Jack Morgan during the construction process adds to her historical value. Wakarere was the first yacht in the Wellington area to feature winches and a toilet. The introduction of these amenities was such a milestone that a "Toilet party" was held to celebrate. Sailing out of the RPNYC, she raced in all the inshore offshore races even participating in the ill-fated Wellington to Littleton race in 1951. Despite encountering difficulties, she persevered and made a memorable journey. Her resilience during this race caught the attention of documentary filmmakers, leading to her appearance in "Descent from Disaster," with Peter Montgomery filming her on the water.
She boasts a carvel plank design, crafted from Kauri with copper bolts, rivets, roves, black beech ribs, and Jara for floors, mast beams, and deadwood. She was built to stand the test of time.
