CENTENARY PHOTO GALLERY
During the COVID-19 pandemic when New Zealand went into lock-down we posted a photo each down to lift the spirits. Here are the photos that were posted
Day 1 started with this one that was taken early on one of the mornings before the crowds arrived.
Day 2 is this picture of the clubhouse full with members watching historical footage from over the years.
Day 3 is this picture of the traditional wood planked X Class Vanguard which we had on display for the weekend.
Day 4 is a picture of the Williams family enjoying dinner before watching the historical footage movies. They are one of many families that have long ties with EBYMBC.
Day 5 is a photo of a prize board that a member put together for the display we had up in the members lounge for the weekend. Someone was obviously a good yachtie!
Day 6 showed a few of the championship pennants that were on display for the weekend.
Day 7 is a photo of three of the families that have a huge tie to EBYMBC, named in alphabetical order: the Hargreaves, Wagstaff & Williams.
Day 8 and we are starting to look at boats. This Idle Along is owned by Gavin Pascoe and the Wellington Classic Yacht Trust, it was sailed in the Classics race by Mike Dunlop.
Day nine's photo which is slightly late is the mighty Wakarere powering upwind during the Classics Race.
Day 10 is a picture of Mataroa, one of the launches that took place in the Classics Race.
Day 11 got a bit philosophical - As with life, things don't always go to plan, but that doesn't stop the smiles. Here the Hargreaves boys, forgot to do up a shackle properly. I'll let them debate whose fault it was...
Day 12 is a picture of Pandora sailing during the Classics Race. It was a fantastic sight seeing everyone out on the water over the weekend.
Day 13 is a picture of Nizam, she has a long history with EBYMBC and families involved with the club.
Day 14 is a photo of Shemara, skippered by Gavin Pascoe, jockeying for position on the start line of the Classics Race.
